GFE Data Science Report
Purpose
To help staff correctly run the Appointment By Booked Date report for self-pay appointments and save the formatted report to the GFE Share Drive for tracking and completion of Good Faith Estimate work.
Situation / Scenario
Use this guide when running the GFE Data Science report to identify self-pay appointments by booked date, export the report to Excel, format it using the GFE template, and save the completed file to the GFE Share Drive.

Helpful Tips
- Always make sure the department is set to Finance before running the report. - The report path is Reports > Business Office Reports > Appointment By Booked Date. - The Fin Class ID should be SP for self-pay. - On Mondays, use Friday as the booked date instead of the day before. - Make sure the report is formatted using the GFE template before saving. - Save the final version to the GFE Share Drive with the current date.
Common Mistakes
- Forgetting to change the department dropdown to Finance. - Choosing the wrong report from the Business Office Reports section. - Using the wrong booked date range. - Forgetting to go back to Friday when running the report on Monday. - Forgetting to enter SP as the Fin Class ID. - Exporting the report but not formatting it to the GFE template. - Saving the file with the wrong date or in the wrong location.
What NOT To Do
Do not run the report without setting the Department to Finance. Do not leave the Fin Class ID blank. - Do not use a date range outside the required booked date instructions unless instructed by leadership. - Do not save the unformatted export as the final GFE log. - Do not enter patient-specific identifiers into the help bot or guide request form.
Escalation Instructions
If the report will not load, the Finance department option is missing, the Appointment By Booked Date report is unavailable, the export does not download correctly, or the GFE template cannot be accessed, escalate to a supervisor or designated Patient Access leadership for assistance.
